The sudden explosion of AI and crypto data centers across New Mexico is devastating our communities, our wallets, and our climate. Data centers are increasing demand for energy, driving more fossil fuel pollution, guzzling our already strained water resources at unsustainable rates, and raising electricity prices.

New Mexico must press pause on the construction of new data centers. We need a moratorium until the harms from data centers can be fully assessed and adequate rules and regulations are in place to protect our health, communities, and environment.
