DataBank is proposing another huge data center at its Orangeburg campus, right next to the Lake Tappan Reservoir, which serves water to tens of thousands of people and provides a natural habitat to wildlife. The project could damage natural wetlands, contaminate drinking water, and increase fire risk.
If approved, their data center campus power use will rise to up to 45 megawatts, enough electricity to power tens of thousands of homes. That can lead to higher electricity bills and grid instability.
The Orangetown Planning Board has the ability to stop this project and reject DataBank’s application, but they need to know that Rockland and Bergen County residents don’t want it!
Make sure they hear from you.
