EPA: Monitor for Microplastics!

The average person consumes 4,000 or more microplastic particles from drinking water each year. Microplastics consumption presents a significant health risk — including an increased risk of cancer — yet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hasn’t announced that it will monitor for microplastics in drinking water.

That’s why Food & Water Watch and seven governors have petitioned the EPA to monitor for microplastics, so that the agency can begin to gather comprehensive data to address this huge problem.

Send a message to EPA: Monitor for microplastics to keep our water safe!
