New York Needs a Moratorium on Data Centers!

The rapid expansion of data centers is one of the biggest affordability and environmental threats of our generation, increasing demand for energy, driving more fossil fuel pollution, straining water resources, and raising electricity prices.

New York must press the pause button on the construction of new data centers. We need a moratorium until data center harms can be fully assessed and adequate rules and regulations put in place to fully protect our health, communities, and environment.

With Albany’s legislative session ending on June 4, it’s urgent that Assembly members and senators demand that voting on and passing the moratorium bill be a priority!
