California brands itself as a climate leader, but despite deadly climate change disasters costing us billions, legislators in Sacramento just passed massive Big Oil giveaways, including paving the way for CO2 pipelines and MORE drilling.
Enough is enough. It’s time for our representatives to hold corporate polluters accountable.
The Polluters Pay Climate Superfund Bill will require CalEPA to establish a program to assess climate damages, collect funds from the biggest polluters, and direct funds to invest in much-needed climate resiliency.
New York and Vermont have already passed similar legislation. Now it’s time for California to do so too.
