For too long, U.S. trade policy has served billionaire CEOs and corporate interests at the expense of working families and farmers.
We have a rare opportunity to submit public comment on the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
We need a trade agenda that rejects corporate interests and centers families, farmers, and workers. We need Fair Trade for Working Families.
Urge the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to embrace the Fair Trade for Working Families policy agenda as a blueprint for a more equitable trade agreement!
Under the USMCA, which governs trade between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, corporations have exercised extensive control over every step of our food supply chain, and many medium- and small-sized family farms have faced bankruptcy.
The Fair Trade for Working Families (H.Res. 1286) embraces mandatory country-of-origin labeling, monopoly-busting, and investment in small and mid-sized farms. Using this agenda as a blueprint, trade policy can make a shift from a corporate-centric approach to one that supports all North American families, farmers, and workers.
