On July 14, Governor Hochul signed an executive order establishing a pause on data centers until the state completes an environmental review.
On September 17, the state released its draft scope for that environmental review, opening up a 30-day comment period with no online or in-person hearings planned. The scope will determine how comprehensive the final environmental review will be, so it's critical that the concerns of New York communities are heard.
The state is accepting public comments on the scoping document until October 20th. Make sure they hear from you.
Tell the Hochul administration we need in-person and online public hearings and an extension of the public comment period!
