With precious little groundwater in New Mexico, fracking is contaminating the air and water, driving down property values, making New Mexicans sick and damaging the things that make our state a great place to live. Come learn more about how we can turn the tide and work for a clean, renewable energy future!

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., screening is at 12:00 noon followed by a discussion about fracking in New Mexico.

Gasland Part II, which premiered at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival, shows how the stakes have been raised on all sides in one of the most important environmental issues facing our nation today. The film demonstrates that the gas industry’s portrayal of natural gas as a clean and safe alternative to oil is a myth, and that fracked wells inevitably leak over time, contaminating water and air, hurting families and endangering our climate. Finally, the film looks at how the powerful oil and gas industry is, in the filmmaker Josh Fox’s words, “contaminating our democracy.”

We look forward to seeing you there! Feel free to bring friends.
